Govan Folk University is a partnership, and not at present an organisation, by which our 5 local organisations wish to join up some of our activities. By doing so we want to reclaim the idea of the "university" as being part of how we work and live - a bringing together of head, heart and hand.

Govan Folk University recently submitted a joint application, through the Pearce Institute as lead partner, to the Scottish Government's Climate Challenge Fund for a project titled Govan Together. We have recently heard that this has been successful and looking forward to getting started in April. We envisage that this will be the main activity of the Govan Folk University for the coming year.

We also organised an event - Kandinsky in Govan: Art, Spirituality and the Future. This programme of preparatory artistic activity in the community, an exhibition and a small international conference in Govan took place over the weekend of 21-23 October 2011.
